ARG caps field to boost entertainment

Australian Racing Group (ARG) will host the second round of its carsales ARG eSport Cup with a field of 40 drivers, down from the 52 who competed in last week’s season opener.

The reduction comes in the hope of decreasing software and internet glitches which were part of the first round won by Trans Am heavyweight Nathan Herne.

The entry list will once again feature a number of drivers from ARG’s five categories, including TCR stars Will Brown and Garth Tander, S5000 drivers Thomas Randle and Tim Macrow, Touring Car Masters’ Steven Johnson and Trans Am regulars Aaron Seton and George Miedecke.

“While there were some clear challenges in our first broadcast, you could see beneath the surface a very interesting and enjoyable sporting event unfolding,” ARG CEO Matt Braid said.

“It’s great that all of our key players will enter Round 2 and a 40-car field is still massive, covering the five classes run by the Australian Racing Group.”

Fans will be able to watch all the racing action through here on the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships’ website and also on the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships’ Facebook page.

The 40 drivers will take on the Belgium-based Circuit Zolder for the second round of the carsales ARG eSport Cup at 8pm on 9 April AEST.
